재미나게 배우는 영어 3번째 입니다.

매번 2분 언저리의 영상을 올리다 오늘은 너무너무 영어 공부가 하기 싫어 1분 4초짜리로 공부를 했습니다.

다들 아시다시피 영어는 재미나게 하는 것도 중요하시만 영어 실력은 공부의 시간에 비례 한다는 것은

부정 할 수 없습니다. 

그래서 오늘은 짧고 굵게 하려 합니다. ㅎㅎ

오늘 영상은 두 부부중 미국인 레이의 대화가 거의 80% 입니다.

원어민이기 때문에 영어 스피킹의 속도가 빠르나 밝음이 정확하여 딱 공부하기 좋은 구간 입니다.

영상을 보면서 쉐도잉을 하는 것도 좋지만 들으시면서 쓰거나 타이핑 하는 것도 문장을 머리속에 넣는데 많은 

도움이 됩니다.

We waited so long to get in at the restaurant.

Even though it was Thursday.

Well that day, I remenber it was one of the hottest days in the summer.

I almost didn't want to go meet you. 

I almost cancelled our date no offense

I was so gross and so sweaty, TMI

But i was disgusting and i didn't want to go meet you. I felt really embarrassed.

But i decided to go anyway and you were so nice~

Do you remenber? you had a little fan.

And you were fanning me while we ware waiting in the long line to get in the restaurant.

It was so cute.

Then we ate really good meal and then we went go Gwangjang market.

For 'round two'

What is that?

Secound round.

We went to Gwangjang market.

For our secound round because it's two stations away.

We ate another good round of food there.

And then I lost my phone in a cab.

She took a cab home

and she accidentally left her phone there inside the cab.

Yeah, I was such an idiot.

3번째 영상은 정말 짧고 굵은 표현들이 많이 있었네요.

오늘도 영어공부 화이팅 입니다. 

쉽고 재미나게 배우는 영어 2-2

오늘은 하루가 정말 길었는데, 그 긴 하루중에 30분 영어하기가 힘들다는 것을 오늘 또 느끼네요...

그래서 오늘은 어제 공부한 영어를 다시 반복 하고자 합니다. 바로 이 블로그에요 ㅎㅎ

좀 더 쉽고 재미나게 공부 하는 방법이 뭐가 있을까 생각 도중 두번째로 제가 올린 영상(1분7초)을 

30분 동안 무한 반복으로 들으면서, 받아쓰기를 하려 합니다. 

늦은 밤이라 쉐도윙은 패스 하려 합니다.

받아쓰기를 하면서, 물론 스크립트를 보면서 하려 합니다. 

그렇지 않으면, 듣고 쓰고, 듣고 쓰고를 계속 반복하다 보면 한시간이 훌쩍 넘어 갈 것 같습니다.

다만, 받아쓰기를 하면서 제가 궁금한 단어 또는 이해 안가는 문장이 있으면 네이버 영어 사전을

통하여 찾아 보려 합니다.

이 공부를 바로 하면서 이 블로그에 정리를 해 보겠습니다.

그럼 시작 하겠습니다.

You said you were a master at finding 'hole-in-the-wall' restaurants.

여기서 hole-in-the-wall 이 이해가 안가 찾아봤는데요.

1번 뜻은 답답한, 사소한, 하찮은 이지만, 영어 문맥상 2번뜻으로 초라한 가게를 말하는 것 같습니다.

의외로 다른 뜻으로는 현금 자동 입출금기(ATM)을 의미하는 뜻도 있네요.

추가로 예문도 찾아봤습니다. (단어를 찾을때 다른 예문도 한번씩 봐 주시는 것도 영어공부에 많은 도움이 됩니다)

"His store is a hole-in-the-wall, but he does good business"

Because I used the app Mango plate.

He uses a 'cheap app' called mango plate to find really goo restaurants.

Back then, I didn't know what Mango plate was so i was really imprressed with his

ability to find really good places.

요 문장에서는 Back then이란 문장에 귀에 거슬렸는데요.

대부분 저희가 배우기로는 at that time이라고 표현을 하는데, 여기 레이란 미국 여성분은 

back then이라 표현해서 사전을 찾아 봤습니다.

사전상 의미로는 그 당시에, 그때에는 이라고 표기 되어 있습니다.

비슷한 예문으로는...

"Back then, most babies was born at home"

"I used to weigh a lot more than i do now and this shirt is left over from back then"

But anyway, we talked a lot the first day that we met

and we decided to go on a date the same day.

And i asked "what is your favorite Korea food?"

She goes "I love 쭈꾸미" 

Is that normal for a foreigner?

I didn't expect "쭈꾸미"

위 대화들 중에서 두 부부는 쭈꾸미라 대화를 하면서 화면 스크립트에는 small octopus라고

표현을 했느데, 제가 찾아보니....small octopus는 낙지를 말하는 것이고, 쭈꾸미는 

short arm octopus 또는 webfoot octopus라고 합니다.

이거 안 찾아 봤으면 전 평생 samll octopus를 쭈꾸미로 오해하며 살았을듯....

He's like "oh there's this really exciting octopus bbq restaurants.

I used the app / the mango plate app

I always wanted to go to an octopus place.

That place is on the seoul michelin guide

Yeah, michelin's guide in seoul.

I searched for it before we ever even met, and you mentioned about octopus so

I searched it again.

So, it was another coincidence. We met coincidentally and we both coincidentally were

interested in the same food.

It was just a coincidence that we ended up meeting and then having a share interest in food.

So, we decided to go on our first date the same day.

요 긴 대화에서는 coincidence 를 처음 들어봤는데 우연의 일치 란 뜻입니다.

추가로 ended up 이란 단어도 생소 하여 찾아 보았는데, '결국/마침내' 이런 뜻 이라고 합니다.

이렇게 누구를 알려주는 듯이 하는 영어 공부도 오늘 해 보니 정말 재미가 있네요.
